Good Will Hunting (1997) is a drama movie which is directed by Gus Van Sant. It is written by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. This is an excellent movie and receives critics and nomination. Good Will Hunting won two Academy Awards. This movie also gains financial success. It is made with only $10 million budget but it gets $225 million gross profit.

This story is about a MIT genius janitor, Will Hunting (Matt Damon). He is smart but he chooses to work as Janitor. In his free time, he usually hang out with his friends, Chuckie (Ben Affleck), Morgan (Casey Affleck), and Cole Hauser as Billy Even though he is smart, he needs directions to live his life.

One day, Professor Lambeau (Stellan Skarsgard) posts algebraic graph theory problem on the board and challenges his students to solve it. Will posts the answer anonymously. It surprises the Professor and his students. The Professor then challenges him with more difficult mathematical problem. Will can solve it again. The professor thinks that his board has been vandalized by Will. He chases Will and found out that he had answered the problem correctly. The Professor then tries to get to know him more.

When Will is arrested for attacking his friend and a police officer, Professor Lambeau helps him to get minimum damage. He gives Will two choices: go to jail or being under the Professor supervision.

Will choice the later. He learns mathematic from the Professor and sees a psychotherapist at his request. Five psychotherapies fail and Lambeau calls his old friend, Sean Maguire. He is an eccentric psychotherapy but he can get through Will’s defense mechanism. After several sessions, Sean helps Will to understand himself. He helps Will to forget the bullying and abuses that he got when he is a kid. In the end, Will drives his Chevy Nova, a gift from his friends, to California and to meet Skylar.
